 Get ready for Scan-and-Frisk!

Terahertz Imaging Detection,” is the NYPD’s latest asset in its ‘battle against crime’…  The soon to be hand held device naked body scans crowds of people who are not suspected of committing a crime and it does so without their knowledge…  An unwarranted strip search… Our Constitution guarantees that searches happen upon reasonable suspicion and warrant only… Period… End of debate!

The debate continues…

The NYPD claims that since a person is out in public… They should not expect any privacy…

They will soon deploy new technology allowing police to detect guns and other contraband carried by criminals without using the typical pat-down procedure…  This device allows police to view concealed contraband from a distance…

If something is obstructing the flow of that radiation, for example a weapon, the device will highlight that object,” Kelly said…

Critics say, technically this device would be an invasion of privacy since the average public does not have x-ray vision… Beyond that… What is the safety dose?… What documentation is used to track subject doses?… What training is given?…  Patients in hospitals can’t be scanned without trained personnel, documentation, an order from a Dr, AND the consent of the patient… Certification has to be displayed publicly…

What is the program being implemented for public safety?… Does the frequency interfere with medical implants like TSA scanners can?… Can it cause sterilization?

I am uncomfortable with random naked body scanning on public streets!” ~The Public~

NYPD Commissioner says the department will begin testing for use on public streets….
